Thanks to those confirming their attendance at the Partizan demo game. So far we have Chris W, Pete, Jason and Ian, plus Rob and me of course. Looking forward to it.

Great days gaming with two enjoyable games played in good spirits. The Outrider set-up was impressive and the host very welcoming. The BAD membership turnout was as strong as at most of our one-day games. Maybe we could look into doing this as an annual event?

Could be interested depending on other pre-Christmas commitments.
Any ideas on period/scale/rules yet? I think 25/28mm always looks better for a demo but willing to consider anything.

Ray has arranged for the club to reprise this battle at the Milton Keynes Campaign show on 12th May. This time it will be in 25mm. Hope to see a few of you down there for this if you can make it.

I believe the date has now been confirmed and booked as 16th March. Hope to see plenty of you there.

    Ray,
Yes from the size of the game it will be 15mm
    Bob,
The date is decided by availability of the hall and by the number of players that have said they can make that weekend.

I have now managed to find enough info on orbats, battlefield and sequence to refight Seneffe as a one day game. The most likely date is either the 16th or17th March, so its now a matter of how many can make it for the game?

As Simon mentions above if we follow the historical sequence it falls into 3 or 4 set pieces. Only the final battle is a really large (really large!)scale encounter. So if you can only make it for the afternoon there will still be commands available on both sides.

Hoping as many as possible can make it on the day

Seneffe looks like the best option for a multi-player game at present. Its a popular period and club players have plenty of suitable figures for the period (in 15mm and maybe even 28mm!

Looking into the scenario and order of battle at present and have discovered there was an article in ‘Arquebusier’ in late 2020 or early 2021. Anyone a Pike and Shot Society member and has a copy of this available?

    Cheers,

Will definitely be down on the 7th. Hope to play either TMWWBK or Xenos Rampant if my lad Rob can make it down (have been itching to try out my British Colonials on Dinosaurs force with the latter rules!)
If not would be glad to sit in on the Resorgimento experimental game.
Have a great Christmas and New Year.

Thanks for the update – obviously the right move at this time. Hopefully we can make the effort to keep in touch via this website. I have a seemingly never ending stream of 25mm figures to do for Dene’s Jacobite Irish campaign armies ( I didn’t know he was recreating it man for man!), and a few dozen 25mm NWF Afghans for my own forces – they have been on my table since Christmas 2018.
Might get back into a bit of solo wargaming, probably using something very simple like the old DBA rules. Its amazing how much better my dice rolls can be when there is no opponent watching.
Also plenty of reading to catch up on. Just started the Helion book on the Scanian War that Ray got for me. There may be another scenario or two to squeeze out of it for a club night game when we get back together.
    All the best,
    Andy

I understand the date is Thursday 19th December. Hope to see as many members as possible there with plenty of ideas for next year ( though the best ideas usually get discussed in the pub after the agm).
