ModeratorSo how did it go?

ModeratorHi,
New guy Richard called in for a game on Thursday having read about us on the website.Andy Dumelow
ModeratorHi Simon,
I hope you can keep running the website more or less in its current format. I think for the size of the club the content and contribution rate is not too bad, and if you are prepared to do the (much appreciated) work we should certainly be able to afford the running costs. These days its probably the most efficient way to bring in new blood to the club.
I’m not a Facebook or Twitter user – and don’t want to be. Saying something for the sake of saying something when you really have nothing to say just annoys me! Having said that if members don’t feel up to writing a full article for the site I would appreciate being kept up to date with their hobby activities (upcoming games, latest painting projects, suggestions for playing new periods or game systems etc). A write up of the AGM would also be welcome.Andy Dumelow
ModeratorThe younger Danish Brother is also keen to play but can’t make the 14th. Is everyone happy with getting Usk out of the way and playing on the 28th – assuming Usk goes ok and you can still bear to play FOG:R!
Andy Dumelow
ModeratorUsk is 23rd/24th Jan so I guess you won’t want a FOG:R in the week before. How does Jan 14th sound with everyone? I think Steve and the Danish Brothers will be up for it as well.

ModeratorHi James,
Heard from Simon G and it was indeed the 10th we agreed on! So – hope to see you for a game a week to-morrow.Andy Dumelow
ModeratorHi James
This game does relate to our pub discussion. It may be me who got it wrong – I know Simon G did the sensible thing of noting down the date so I’ll wait and see what he says. I’ve no problem holding on until the 10th, or even playing another game of it that day if you are still keen?Andy Dumelow
ModeratorHi,
I’d like to join in if possible and should be able to make either of the suggested dates. Sorry but no figures to contribute.Andy

ModeratorJohn,
I can make the 17th if you still need playersAndy

ModeratorThe room is apparently booked for Sunday 23rd August. I have 4 interested in playing a FOGR scenario that day. It’s playable at that, but to get the ‘One Day Game’ feeling I’d ideally like a few more. Anyone interested?
Alternatively I can delay the scenario until later in the year (as originally planned) to get the numbers up.Andy Dumelow
Moderatorstunning scenery aside I’m pleasantly surprised to see their set-up was very close to our modest game.

ModeratorThis game now set for next Thursday(9th). Dene, Simon G and Wayne are in – could do with one more player.
CheersAndy Dumelow
ModeratorRay,
Why don’t I bring the Swedes for Dene to play against you? You’ll get to fight against the army you want commanded by an experienced competition player. I reckon the Swedes are well suited to Dene’s style of play.Andy Dumelow
ModeratorI’ll be there on Thursday and will be happy to sit in on this game or play FOGR with the Swedes against you as required.

Moderator“Bob”
Definitely replied and shown as sent – probably only went to your own address and not BAD. Bit late now but:“Bob”,
Glad you can make it, cough permitting. The 2 Swedish 4/2 infantry would complete their o.o.b nicely, save for one cavalry regiment that can be easily sourced.
The English 5/1 would be the right coat colours, but the Danish 6m would be the right composition. The Saxons need 8 battalions so with my Danish we could do them all in grey 6m. Do you have 8 battalions of red coated English?
The Saxons have 12 cavalry regiments (8 cuirassier and 4 dragoons who fought mounted on the day) which Dene/Simon have offered to supply. If you are happy to bring what you can along it would be better to have too many to choose from than not enough. Coats ideally red or buff for the cavalry.
See you on the 28th.
Cheers,
Andy -
