Simon ClarkeModeratorBritcon 2014, Manchester
Friday, August 8, 2014 5:00 PM until Sunday, August 10, 2014 4:30 PM
As someone who entered Britcon last year (and hopefully also enjoyed it!), we’re pleased to be able to let you know that the University has now set up and opened their online booking portal for onsite accommodation at Britcon 2014, allowing you to reserve your own room within staggering distance of the venue itself..
As usual there is a range of accommodation on offer this year, however with other residential events taking place over the same weekend as Britcon it is likely that some categories of rooms will become fully booked this year – so if this is your preferred choice accommodation, it may be best to book sooner rather than later.
The Uni booking portal is online now at https://www.meeting.co.uk/confercare/bhgs/ – you’ll also be directed to this link once you have completed your online booking for the competitions at Britcon.
You are of course free to book elsewhere, however the UMIST rooms are the closest to the venue, and pretty good value as well.
(Britcon takes place again at UMIST in Manchester over the Friday-Sunday of 8-10th August 2014 – we have extra space, and extra periods on offer this year, and we are also expecting to see a few more overseas players who will be taking in Britcon along with The Worlds in Koblenz, Germany the following weekend).
For a list of period being played this year, see our web page. If you’ve already forgotten how well (or badly!) you did last year, we’ve also got the Full Results
We hope to see you again in 2014

Simon ClarkeModeratorMight I suggest that we look at a printed vinyl mat, such as –

rather than rigid boards.
Peter put together a proposal for BF show themed terrain which is nice and prolly would suit.
Figures are the easy bit. I’m sure everyone has them already? I’ve got American in great coats etc
