The 5th Round of the FOGR Southern League 2016 was held at Southampton on 25th September 2016. The period was Early 16th century Europe, 1494-1555 with three games on pre-set terrain.
In the final round Dene Green found himself in a civil war against another Flodden Scots army commanded by Paddy Bray.
Unable to engage his full army against an enemy tucked away on his right flank Dene’s dice were not kind in the one ‘keil-on-keil’ action that this position allowed.
This dropped Dene from 2nd to equal 3rd, but as the table below shows, at least Dene & Ray were able to prevent a clean sweep of the top three places by the Oxford club.
