I hope you can keep running the website more or less in its current format. I think for the size of the club the content and contribution rate is not too bad, and if you are prepared to do the (much appreciated) work we should certainly be able to afford the running costs. These days its probably the most efficient way to bring in new blood to the club.
I’m not a Facebook or Twitter user – and don’t want to be. Saying something for the sake of saying something when you really have nothing to say just annoys me! Having said that if members don’t feel up to writing a full article for the site I would appreciate being kept up to date with their hobby activities (upcoming games, latest painting projects, suggestions for playing new periods or game systems etc). A write up of the AGM would also be welcome.”

I think the website’s excellent and reflects well on the club, but I’m guilty myself of only having written 6-7 articles over the past 2 years. I’d like to keep it but I think there’s a wider apathy issue that needs to be borne in mind unfortunately…

Here is a summary of the arrangements for competition games at Derby World Wargames 2014.
We are intending again to use the compound at one end of the hall for competitor parking.
Entry to the show and competitor registration will, as last year, be at the main entrance of the Exhibition Centre. A gate from the compound will allow direct access to the path along the front of the hall to walk down to the entrance.
Note the compound will be closed and locked during public hours, but can be opened on request. It will be closed and locked overnight. Competitor show tickets will be handed out on registration.This year we have issued clarified our show policy; which is printed in the show guide (now downloadable from a link on our website at: http://www.worldwargames.co.uk/).
Please read and comply with the full policy. In summary, it requests everyone to “Please behave reasonably and with consideration for others”.
It notes that the hall is a non-smoking venue; those wishing to smoke “vape” or use e-cigarettes should exit the building via the main public entrance and do it outside. Re-admittance just requires you to show your ticket. Do NOT use the fire exits except in an emergency. Opening the fire exits doors makes the building unpleasant for others.Competitors will be allowed entrance on Saturday from 8.15am (leave the premises by 6.30pm).
Sunday: 8.30am and end games by 4.15pm, prize giving 4.30pm (clear the premises by 5.15pm).Public Entry times are: Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm, Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Directions
In case you need them, these are directions on how to get there, mainly taken from the Donington Park website. Donington Park is signed as ‘Donington Park’. There are direction signs to the Exhibition Centre inside Donington Park itself. We have been asked to use the Main Gate, but if you arrive at the other entrance security will direct you where you need to go.From North (M1/A50):
Leave the M1 at junction 24, then at the roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A453 (signposted Tamworth, Birmingham). At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A453 (signposted East Midlands Airport, Diseworth, Donington Park).
Go past the Donington Park Service Area (MOTO). At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A453. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A453, go past the Airport, and finally turn right into Donington Park.From South (M1/M42/A42)
Leave the M1 at junction 23a, then merge onto the A42 (signposted Stoke A50). At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A453 (signposted East Midlands Airport, Diseworth, Donington Park). Go past Donington Park Service Area (MOTO). At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A453.
At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A453. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A453, go past the Airport, and finally turn right into Donington Park.From West (A38/A50)
The shorter and quicker way is to take the Castle Donington exit on the A50 (signposted Castle Donington). Donington Park is signed straight on at this point and the signs take you to the A453 roundabout by the M1. If you proceed straight through Castle Donington, Donington Park is about a mile on your right.If you’ve any other questions please just ask.
