This coming Thursday Nigel Emsen is visiting the Burton Club and is going to set up a Napoleonic scenario using his new rule-set Hordes of Models and Buckets of Dice (HOMABOD), for you all to take part in Waterloo-vignette using 54mm figures!

The rules cover all scales, from 6mm to as big as you like, so if you get a taste for it, they will suit your current collections: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hordes-Models-Buckets-Dice-Gunpowder/dp/1511581999
Paul Freeman and Steve Holt will be playing. I any other BAD players would like to take part in this special Bicentenary game please sign up here or let Dene or Ray know ASAP.

I’ll be there on Thursday and will be happy to sit in on this game or play FOGR with the Swedes against you as required.

    Thanks Andy.
I know that you would really prefer to do Waterloo. So there is now no need to bring the Swedes.

The R & R is out for my Oxford weekend and, no surprise, there is only one Swedish! However, as there are a few Late Imperial Spanish, Dene has kindly agreed to give this army a run out for me. This would work out best as Dene & I will have been involved in the Waterloo scenario earlier in the day.

Common Briefing Notes from Nigel Emsen
Hordes of Models and Buckets of Dice http://www.quickplayrules.com
    Introduction
Welcome to “Gentlemen, I give you today’s fox”, Waterloo 2015. You will receive your
handouts of detailed situation briefing, game map, order of battle and actions for the day.
This will be an objective based game. The game will not be a direct replication of the historic
day. You will experience some of the same challenges that the commanders met on the day.
You will have an element of free deployment within bounds. These bounds are there to
maintain element of historic accuracy. The aim is to have a fun and close run game, but lets
remember approx. 41,000 men across the three armies did not leave the battlefield 200 years
ago. Spare them a thought on 18th June 2015.
The start of the game will represent 12:30 on the morning of the battle.
The umpires ruling is final 😉 I will be adjusting the game through various methods to ensure
the game is kept tight and “stressful” for the players.
    Enjoy.

    Ray,
Why don’t I bring the Swedes for Dene to play against you? You’ll get to fight against the army you want commanded by an experienced competition player. I reckon the Swedes are well suited to Dene’s style of play.

    Andy,

Sure, bring ’em along if you like but I think both Dene & I are happy that he runs the Spanish out.

What I think would be much better is if you & I fix up a one-to-one but non-competitive late C17th game in the near future. A small scenario, for example.
