    Thanks Simon.
    I’d like to drop a couple of maps in. I can scan them as pdfs, but I don’t think I can drop a pdf into a text doc? Is there any way my pdfs can be turned into a JPEG or similar photo file?

    An easier way is to just do a screen capture using the snipping tool (windows 7+) and save as PNG to keep it small. Even a print screen into paint would work. Just keep the res low for for file size. You don’t need more than 72dpi for computer screen . Converting pdf seems a lot of hard work to me
