    Hi Dene,

As much of an aide memoir for myself! Here are some things we did wrong yesterday

Flanking attack. An assault carried out into any other face than the one facing the enemies base edge counts as a flank attack. It doesn’t matter about any troop facings. So attacking a face at right angles to the long base is always a flank attack

Supporting squares and aiding the assault. A supporting square can count multiple times for separate assaults. It can also count if it not the primary assaulter. So, if you attack from 2 sides the 2nd assaulter counts for aiding the assault AND as a supporting square. Supporting squares are limited to 2 supporting squares for the attacker and 4 for the defender

When you win the fight (but have taken casualties), all the casualty bases are removed. So as long as you are winning we need never take a morale test.

So based on your initial assault (from 3 squares) , it probably ought to have been

    Primary attack square ( 2 infantry @3 + 1 cav @ 1 (assaulting a building square) = 7
Additonal assault (from your R L)
    1st aider (2 inf @ 1 (max 2 per face ) = 2
    2nd aider (2 inf @ 1 (max 2 per face ) = 2
    Each support square (max 2) = 2@2 = 4

    Total 15 dice

    Defender

    1 infantry @2 = 2
    +1 per British inf (max 2) = 1
    1 MG = 5
As I recall I had no support at the beginning
    -1 per additional assaulting (max 2 per face) , 2 squares * -2 = -4

    Total 4 dice

So really you should have swept that defence away quite quickly. (crap dice aside!)

We need to be careful about saving throws, and the adjustment. There are difference between defences and buildings , and their effect on inf and MGs. We got some of those saving throws wrong.

That said I thought it all went quite smoothly
