Ray’s Occasional History Radio & TV Picks. No.2018/08
My Radio Times is full of highlighter marks for next week – far too many Great War programmes to list here. So my TV picks:
Notwithstanding the title misquote, I am most looking forward to Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old on BBC2 Sunday 9.30pm: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0brzkzx
On Monday BBC4 7.30pm there is a behind the scenes look at how director Peter Jackson created this WWI documentary: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0brzngq

My Radio pick is Armistice 1918, BBC Radio 4, 9.45 am, daily from Mon 12 Nov 2018:
Five historians explore the global impact of the 1918 armistice and the legacy it has left in our world: from the fringes of Europe to the Middle East. They challenge the conventional narrative about the end of the First World War and the peace settlements that followed, with repercussions still felt today. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00013mz
