Please forgive the out-the-blue email, but I work for Derby Book Festival and I wanted to flag up a couple of events that you might find of interest this year.

For starters, we have The Bone Season author Samantha Shannon, who will be visiting the Festival to talk about her new novel, The Priory of the Orange Tree. Horror writer Alex Davis, who organises Sci Fi and Fantasy event Sledge-Lit, will be interviewing Samantha. I’ve attached a flyer about this event.

We also have appearances by authors of crime, fiction and history novels, from a retelling of the life of Lady Macbeth in Blood Queen by Joanna Courtney to a rare UK visit by father of Nordic Noir, Gunnar Staalsen. You can find more details on all our events at

Thanks for taking the time to read about this year’s festival, please share the information with anyone you feel would be interested.

    All the best,
